DIY Post: How to Use a Cell Phone on a Cruise Ship

Everyone loves to go on vacation...and one of the best vacations is to go on a cruise ship and enjoy the relaxing environment, great weather and incredible food. Even though you are on vacation though, many people still like to be able to keep in touch. Sometimes staying in touch may simply be for making sure the kids can call you, or other times work (for that "emergency"), but regardless, having access to your cell phone can be just as important on the ship as it is on land.

Thankfully, using your cell phone in cruise ship is very easy, but there are still things to consider. While most any US cellphone from Sprint, Verizon, or AT&T will work, the differences are significant and there are major issues to consider when it comes to cost, convenience and flexibility. To help with this problem, I have written-up this short how-to guide which I published on eHow.com. These guidelines should help ensure that not only will your cell phone service works, but using your phone while on a cruise ship is a positive experience.

Tax Advice: How to get the best tax benefit when deciding to sell or donate a car

Well, it is tax time again, and if you are like me, you are busily trying to figure out the best way to pay your taxes. Best, of course, means not only paying what you owe, but also making sure you have made the right deductions for the previous year.  Ensuring you handle your deductions correctly can mean all sorts of things, but one of the best ways to make sure you have the right balance is to make a charitable donation. And one of the best charitable donations is donate a used car to a charitable organization.

Unfortunately, recent changes in tax law have made donating a car a much more complicated process. Whereas you used to be able to get the full "blue book" value, today, that is only the case in certain situations. In fact, for most donations, you are most likely to receive only a few hundred dollars in credit vs. the thousands you received years ago. With this is mind, sometimes it is better to simply sell the car.

This helpful guide should assist you in making some of those decisions. Of course, you should always speak to a tax advisor for "real" advice...

How to transfer iTunes music from an old to a new computer

Wanted to share a recent post I made on eHow in preparation for Christmas. As many folks are about to get a new computer to go with their new magic device from Apple, it seemed appropriate to answer the question on how to transfer music from one computer to another.

This step-by-step process should help things make sense of that process. And don't worry...it is pretty easy to do.
